Film and dicussion: The history of the „Schönholzer Heide“ in Berlin-Pankow (32 min.)

The Schönholzer Heide is a park that's often used by members of the local community for free-time activities etc. .Since 2009 there have been information boards on which the visitors can read about the history of the park. It's on the site of one of the biggest forced labour camps in Berlin.

Today there is a war cemetary in which nazi-soldiers are lying next to civilians and SS-men next to forced labourers. And this without any type of indication of who is who!

The film, which originated during a youth project in Berlin-Pankow, gives witnesses to history and members of the local community a chance to talk about the park and its history. It also tries to understand the different forms of rememberance that are practiced here.
